Task Force on the Future of Feminist Psychological Practice

This task force chaired by Ruth Fassinger and Karen Wyche is working closely with the Committee on Feminist Training and Practice, Division 35 section presidents, the Task Force on Feminist Evidence-Based Practice, the Task Force on Establishment of an American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) Certification in Feminist Psychological Practice and the Task Force on South and West Asian Women to identify current and future models for feminist psychological practice. Special emphasis is being given to identification and creation of feminist/diversity models and interventions that support practice consistent with the Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Girls and Women, especially related to the intersections of social identities, social change and conceptualization of clients’ issues in their sociocultural contexts. Additional areas of focus include feminist psychological practice with men, feminist models of prevention, the internship imbalance, and graduate training in feminist psychological practice. This task force will also explore the feasibility and desirability of holding a Second National Conference on Education and Training in Feminist Practice.
